Pedestrians and cyclists in Berne contribute a lot to a city that is environmentally friendly. The city of Berne encourages walking, cycling and the use of public transport within its borders and its surrounding areas. Below you will find what the city of Berne offers its pedestrians and cyclists.

Bike stations and bike parking

Six bike stations with approximately 2,000 safe stands are located in the city centre.

Bike rental

Free rental of bikes (including bikes suitable for children and electric bikes), scooters and skateboards are available at the following bike stations:

  • Milchgässli bike station (all year round)
  • PostParc bike station (all year round)
  • Hochschulzentrum vonRoll bike station (all year round)
  • Hirschengraben (from May to October)
  • Zeughausgasse (from May to October)

Discover Berne on foot. On this map you will find various playgrounds, parks, the Tierpark-Dählhölzli, the Bärenpark and lots of other attractive places suitable for families.
