Bern is the city of bridges, fountains and bears. Bern is the federal city: Switzerland’s capital. It was founded in 1191 by Duke Berchtold V of Zähringen. The famous old town is a «UNESCO Cultural World Heritage Site». Yet Bern has so much more to offer: culture, sports, science, education, work, relaxation, nature, shopping and entertainment.
