Federal Square – more than just a city space
Federal Square offers a venue for political rallies, concerts and sports events. It is also where the Swiss Confederation receives official state visitors and is, twice a week, the place where the residents of Bern can buy fresh produce and flowers at the popular «Märit» street market. Federal Square is thus both a focus of Switzerland’s sense of national identity and the pulsing heart of the country’s capital city.
