Reception on 3 May 2022
On 15 May 2022, the national vote will address the film law in Switzerland. Specifically, it is about adapting film productions and film culture to the digital transformation and the inclusion of streaming services.
Many Swiss people now use streaming services and thus benefit from numerous different productions. To ensure that the local and European film industry remains strong, streaming providers should now offer at least 30 per cent content produced in Europe. Many European countries already have such a regulation and Switzerland is aiming to follow.
Get to know the Swiss film industry and discuss with us the advantages and disadvantages of the regulations as well as the future of the film culture.
